About Robert Burlison

With a career spanning 37 years, attorney Robert Burlison has owned and operated two successful law firms in California. As the owner and mediator of Resolve Mediation Center, he has participated in hundreds of arbitration and mediation hearings since founding the company in 1990. From 1986 to 2018, he first established and then operated a civil litigation firm, know as Burlison Law Group at the time of his retirement in 2018, headquartered first in Glendale, then La Canada, and finally in Pasadena, California, which specialized in handling personal injury, general civil law, real property, contract, and commercial legal cases. In addition to serving thousands of clients, Robert Burlison performed administrative duties and oversaw the daily operations of the firm until his retirement in 2018.

Having been involved in over 200 court trials, Mr. Burlison has been published cited in several cases. A recipient of Kiwanis' Outstanding Young Man of the Year Award, he began his legal career with Lynberg & Nelsen where he worked as a litigation associate, a position he assumed after earning his juris doctor at the Pepperdine University School of Law.

While Mr. Burlison is now inactive in the field of law, he continues to support both the development of mediation as a resolution procedure and his dedication to charitable organizations and projects. He has participated in both Judge Pro Tem programs to assist court administration, and the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition as a Moot Court Judge and, to this day, has maintained a membership in the nonprofit service organization, Kiwanis International, in a number of clubs in Southern California. Now in retirement, Mr. Burlison, along with his wife of 40 years, are active in the lives and activities of their four children and four grand children, spread out in various regions of the country, and is an avid mountain bike rider, having discovered the benefits of the Sondor’s electric bicycle, which adds that little bit of support when endurance cannot be summoned as well as it had been in days past.
